Art does indeed have the ability to lie to us, presenting a scene as reality that is actually beyond this world of reality.
We can use a cleverly built environment to fool the viewer into believing that they are seeing something appears to be what it is not. The arrangement tells a story beyond what is happening in "true reality."
We can use layers to create something new, reveal hidden shapes, or gestalt meaning.
